Apple has updated its iPad range by launching an affordable 9.7-inch iPad. The company has replaced its exclusive 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 with a device simply called the iPad. The specs of the new tablet are mostly same as that of the iPad Air 2.
The only thing that has changed with the new iPad is the old A8X chip which is replaced by the 64-bit A9. This chip is firstly used in iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Besides, the price of the tablet has also been dropped. The price of a 32G Wi-Fi model starting at $329 and the price of a 32GB Wi-Fi and Cellular model is $459.
The new iPad has appeared on Apple's store this yesterday along with a couple of minor updates. The company even launched special red edition of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus for a good cause. The iPhone SE now have more storage options of 32GB and 128GB which is double than its previous specs. Furthermore, the company has also announced a new app called Apple Clips for making and sharing creative videos.
Although the new iPad has decreased price, it has some limitations. For a start, you cannot buy the new iPad in rose gold, as the color option is only available for iPad Pro models. Its case is also slightly larger than that of the iPad Air 2. It is 7.5mm thick instead of 6.1mm and weighs 469 grams instead of 437 grams. The heights and width remain the same as of iPad Air 2.
In a press release, Apple Executive Phil Schiller stated that customers would welcome the new ever more affordable 9.7-inch iPad. The new customers and anyone looking to upgrade will love this new iPad to use in school, at home, for work. It has beautiful retina display, powerful A9 chip and has access to more than 1.3 million apps designed especially for it. You can check out the details on Apple store for buying the new iPad.
