It seems like a crazy scenario seeing how “Red Dead Redemption” and “Grand Theft Auto 5” carry different game genres. Though both are officially under the Rockstar Games banner, only a crazy scene seeing cars and horses co-exist in the western setting seem plausible. Then again, it has happened in the movies, with reference to “Back To The Future” for one.
As far as the gaming sector is concerned, the same could happen but on rare occasions. A lot falls on how the game is scripted. Thanks to the efforts of developer Mr. Leisurewear, the “Red Dead Redemption” full game map has been modded to fit into “Grand Theft Auto 5”. Screenshots of that can be found over at the GTA Forums.
The “Red Dead Redemption” map for “Grand Theft Auto 5” is technically a small piece of what Mr. Leisurewear and company have planned. A bigger project called “Red Dead Redemption V” is in the works though they will need plenty of help. With plans to add more elements, calls for a programmer and scripter have been sent out, Game Spot reported.
The current team needs help in reverse engineering the file formats and developing added features. Among the planned features for the “Grand Theft Auto 5,” mod include mini games and adapting certain game mechanics like “Dead Eye Targeting”.
For now, the focus is on the curious “Red Dead Redemption” map for “Grand Theft Auto 5.” It is expected to arouse the curiosity of gamers though there is one thing players have to take note of. The mod is not intended for use on GTA Online, fair warning of risks ahead. The full “Red Dead Redemption” map for “Grand Theft Auto 5” was meant for third party online clients such as FiveM/ Fivereborn. A beta version of the map is targeted for release this summer.
