Google Pixel 2 Updates: Codename Walleye & Muskie Will Stick From Google's Model Strategy

Google has recently confirmed that the arrival of the next generation Pixel will be this year. Speculations have been gathered on their possible codenames such as Walleye and Muskie.

Gadgets NDTV noted that the upcoming Google Pixel base variant will be known as Walleye while the other larger two variants will be called as Muskie. Reports also stated that the said-to-be Walleye was seen on Android Open Source Project which confirms that it will soon run on an Android.

For more information behind these codenames is that Muskies and Walleye are both North American freshwater fishes which literally Muskies are larger fish than Walleyes. Both Google Pixel codenames Walleye and Muskies are speculated to be launched this year's October; seeing that the time frame for Google devices last year is maintained.

Google Company's newly appointed Lead Hardware Rick Osterloh claimed that these upcoming devices will be positioned in the premium segment smartphone devices for the company which will put Google Pixel 2 to be more expensive than Google Pixel smartphones.

Google Pixel 2 was expected to feature an improvised camera and processor; said to be water resistant. Google Pixel last year got excellent reviews from different tech enthusiasts. However, there are some numerous glitches that have been complained by other reviewers; a bug that keeps cropping even up until now. The latest issue about last year's Google Pixel was related to its microphone, users claimed that there is an audio input failure which the audio only work by using camera app while recording a video. The company has been aware of the issues which they recommend users the have their Google Pixel phone to be refunded by a replacement under its warranty as an immediate solution.

According to Android Police, Google will stick to the strategy of two models like their devices last year; one smaller and a larger one. However, internal specification has been blurry as of now. These two Google Pixel variants were said to be revealed within this year
