Long at last, 2017 Alpine A110 finally unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. During the show, the car company revealed its specs, engine performance as well as the price of the said model.
2017 Alpine A110 has a brand new 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cycle cylinder engine that can produce up to 249 bhp and 320Nm of torque. The new car model only weighs at 1,080 kg because of the all-aluminum bodywork and lightweight aluminum platform. That means, it can produce a power-to-weight a measure of 230 bhp per tonne.
When it comes to a paddle-shift gearbox, 2017 Alpine A110 used a Getrag's seven-speed dual clutch that completes 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds. It was 0.1 quicker than its closest competition, the Porsche Cayman S. In addition, 2017 Alpine A110 can speed up to 155 miles per hour while Porsche Cayman S has a speed of 20mph. Brembo made the brakes, 18in wheels from Fuchs and Sabelts designed the car seats.
As per the appearance, 2017 Alpine A110 design came from the original A110 Berlinette's curves and cues. There is a little bit of resemblance from 2016 Alpine Vision Concept in its slippery shape and aerodynamic trickery design.
As what expected, Alpine uses fancy materials for the new car model. There were a leather, aluminum and carbon fiber combination for the cabin and a one-piece bucket seat for the driver and passenger area. On the other hand, the car's luggage space has 196 liter, which was a less than half of Cayman model. With the addition of using LED's for the lights, surely, 2017 Alpine A110 has one of the simplest yet elegant designs.
However, Alpine confirmed that 2017 Alpine A110 will not be available to the US. "At the moment we are not planning on selling the A110 in the US," Alpine chief Bernard Ollivier said. "Re-launching the brand is a big project. Right now we're focusing on markets like Europe and Japan." He added.
2017 Alpine A110 will have its special Premiere Edition model with the price of 58,500 euros in France. Alpine will only build 1,955 examples of limited-run cars with the color availability of black, white or Alpine blue.
