Nintendo Switch Update: Does Nintendo’s Best Selling Console Now Hacked?

Nintendo Switch has been experiencing a solid success with its performance in the market. However, it seems like Nintendo Switch browser made a bunch of old vulnerabilities that some hackers were able to access. Recently, a hacker known as qwertyoruiop which has already known for Jailbreaks both gaming and android versions has posted a WebKit running Nintendo Switch.

According to qwertyoruiop from the reports of Wololo Net, the hackers went on tweaking the existing jailbreakMe iOS WebKit and easily removed the iOS specific code from it. But the hacker has not yet given any assurance or any strong proof besides a screenshot from its twitter account.

As soon as it will be verified, it will be the first time in gaming console history that people can get their hands on a hacked console more easily than Nintendo's console itself. Thus, it will be a very a big loss for Nintendo Switch's market. This indicates that Nintendo Company had rushed in releasing the Nintendo Switch which they have made the console with known WebKit vulnerabilities.

According to Tech Portal, people with skills in hacking and special programming can access Nintendo Switch and will be able to identify or verify the claimed hack by qwertyoruiop with his Jailbreak code that will help people who can't afford to but Nintendo Switch. Other hackers in 3DS/Wii U is now looking for similar vulnerabilities while the hacker qwertyoruiop has already started going deeper where he stated that Nintendo Switch's syscalls don't look like FreeBSD.

Nintendo Switch's OS perhaps the new iteration for the 3DS OS code instead of FreeBSD but the console Switch currently uses elements from FreeBSD kernel without injecting FreeBSD in its OS. As of now, the hack of qwertyoruiop has not been revealed yet and proven. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch developers will surely release a quick update for its firmware with a patch for Nintendo Switch to avoid spoilage of the console since the vulnerability is apparently public.
