iPhone 8 vs Samsung Galaxy S8: Which Smartphone Will Be Better?

It is an exciting year for the smartphone community as the flagship smartphones by two of the biggest tech company are expected to be released this year. Apple's iPhone 8 is expected to be a better upgrade of iPhone 7 while the Samsung Galaxy S8 believes to be the company's redeemer after the notorious reputation gained by its predecessor. 

So far, the leaks on the iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 are still vague to the community. Nevertheless, with the leaks provided to the public, which smartphone is set to have the biggest market share?

Design

According to an article posted by 9to5Mac by Chance Miller suggested that the iPhone 8 will come with three models depending on the display. The company is known to release two models of their flagship smartphone but the article suggested that Apple will release the third one as a commemoration of the smartphone's series' 10th anniversary.

Rumors also claim that the phone will sport a 5.8-inch display, with the Plus model having a bigger display and that it will have OLED displays, the first time that Apple would be using it. It is also expected to them that they will configure the display with nothing less than a Quad HD resolution.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to have a 5.7-inch display. The premium model of the phone is rumored to have a 6.2-inch screen.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be equipped with a curved Super AMOLED design with Quad HD+ resolution. Rumored photos of the phone suggested it will have a dual-curved edge-to-edge screen.

Hardware and Software

Apple was known for releasing the latest version of the iOS mobile operating system in their flagship phones. Smartphone community is already expecting that the iPhone 8 will run on iOS 11, BGR has reported. 

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The Android Nougat received good feedbacks from users and it was already rolled out to other phones beyond Samsung like the Google Pixel devices.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, as what the Business Insider has reported. Samsung is also developing a model that would be powered by their own Exynos 8995 chipset. On the other hand, the iPhone 8 is expected to have the Apple A11 processor.

Chipset

An official announcement of the chipsets going to be used by the iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 are yet to be released to give more information. So far, there is no substantiated information about the chipsets.

Based on rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a 4GB of RAM while the iPhone 8 will have a 2GB of RAM. It is also expected at the latter product that it will have 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of storage space.

Verdict

So far, it can be said that without the official information coming from their respective companies, it is hard to say that the iPhone 8 triumphs over the Samsung Galaxy S8. Both are promising since they have upgraded their features from their predecessor.

The two might face problems that were caused by past releases. Apple fans are anticipating for the iPhone 8 and its promise to be upgraded and different from Apple 7. The Samsung Galaxy S8 must prove that it would not have any technical problems like the notorious exploding battery of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
