‘Naruto Shippuden’ Latest News: Show Possibly Concluding After A Decade; ‘Boruto’ Spinoff To Take Slot

After more than a decade of delivering much-needed action and warm storylines, it looks like world renowned anime "Naruto Shippuden" will be ending for good very soon. Masashi Kishimoto's masterpiece has already caught up with its manga source last year as Naruto went head on with his rival Sasuke after the Fourth Great Ninja War. The intense confrontation ended with the two ninjas coming to terms and leaving Team 7 to unite once again after many years apart. While the manga had ended, some elements of the show have continued on as spinoffs.

Reports say that the long-running popular anime "Naruto Shippuden" will be concluding soon. This closure could take place in order to make way for its "Boruto" spinoff. The anime is still currently at its Hidden Leaf Village arc, which will wrap up at the end of the month.

The Weekly Shonen Jump magazine also reveals that the story arc that focuses on Naruto and Hinata's nuptials will end with episode 500. Via Anime News Network, it said that it will air on March 23. This only means that there are only a couple of episodes remaining just before "Naruto Shippuden" finally bids farewell. It is believed that the anime's Hidden Leaf Village arc will be the focus of the show's finale.

Comicbook.com reports that "Naruto Shippuden's" ongoing arc looks like it is already gearing for an exit. Weekly Shonen Jump did not mention when exactly it would end or if it will still air after March 23. The final episode is expected to focus on Iruka's message to Naruto, as he marries Hinata.

Last December, "Naruto Shippuden" first began an exploration on "Konoha Hiden" as it adapted the first of three epilogue novels. The first to be animated was Sasuke's story, which was followed by Shikamaru's story. The Konoha Hiden exploration has been going on for the past few weeks.

While this is highly probable, these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, since there is no official news yet about "Naruto Shippuden" finally exiting. It is worth noting that the "Boruto" spinoff is slated for a Wednesday timeslot, while Shippuden will still air on Thursdays. Some hope that Shippuden will continue to air while "Boruto" begins, but nothing has been confirmed as of the moment.
