‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ Latest News & Update: Release Possible in 2018 With London Game Setting

Mar 13, 2017 12:54 AM EDT

“Grand Theft Auto 6” has taken a backseat with Rockstar Games going full steam for “Red Dead Redemption 2” instead. No development or further updates are expected for the rest of the year, at least until RDR2 comes out in the open. “Red Dead Redemption 2” is expected in the fall.

Just the same, the speculations surrounding “Grand Theft Auto 6” are not expected to die down. For now, looking at the track record of the action-adventure game may be the only credible source. If the release of past “Grand Theft Auto” franchises is to be checked, the four or five-year interval points to a potential release in 2018.

Assuming nothing delays RDR2, the Rockstar game developers could buckle down to work on GTA6 immediately but see it come out next year may be too close to call, Expert Reviews suggests. Rather, a 2019 release date of “Grand Theft Auto 6” seems more logical.

While the release date of “Grand Theft Auto 6” is anyone’s guess, there is the matter of what to expect. The past months have seen suggestions of a female protagonist using the voice of Eva Mendes, Know Your Mobile reported. An entirely new gameplay is something to expect but the question is where. Some believe that it will be held outside America and the game setting could take place in London.

It would be best to take note of “Grand Theft Auto: London” which came out in the original PlayStation version. There are obviously a lot of locations to consider so it all boils down to which area can adapt to the gameplay that the game developers have in mind in accordance with their programming or script. For now, improvements and new content to “Grand Theft Auto 5” and “Grand Theft Auto Online” will continue. The landscape obviously changes once “Red Dead Redemption 2” is officially released.
