OnePlus 5 News: Never Settle Leaked Teaser Hints Flagship Killer's Release

Mar 10, 2017 10:12 AM EST

OnePlus had managed to break into the competitive smartphone arena with their affordable and powerful flagship smartphone offerings a few years ago. The company has continued with their "flagship killer" line-up, with the latest smartphone being the highly praised OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. Nevertheless, all of the attention is now on the company's upcoming new follow-up, the OnePlus 4 or OnePlus 5.

Some recent leaks reveal that all new OnePlus 5 maybe in the works and can be announced in 2017 itself. Speculations are rife about the launch of a new OnePlus phone.

Meanwhile, a famous tipster, Evan Blass has tweeted a picture that showcases wallpaper from what appears to be the new OnePlus smartphone. In the picture we can see, written in bold letters are the words 'Never Settle' and in the background, there is molten black lava and shades of red and orange.

Aside from the leak by Evan Blass, even Android Police's David Ruddock has also posted the information related to OnePlus 5 on Twitter. He has mentioned that OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei asked him whether one can expect a 'dark' announcement sometime soon. Pei in turn, replied to the tweet, with a GIF of wolves howling at night under a full moon.

According to Phone Arena, the leaked image of the alleged OnePlus 4 or OnePlus 5 could be teasing of a new Jet Black-colored OnePlus 3T or it might be an entirely new device. Reports also speculate that it could be a new midnight black casing, or perhaps something entirely different.

In the meantime, the next generation OnePlus flagship is expected to be coming with some killer specs. The OnePlus 4 or OnePlus 5 is said to be coming with a large 4,000 mAh battery and a staggering 8GB of RAM. However, it has to be noted that it may be too early to speculate and fans would most likely have to wait until OnePlus officially makes an announcement regarding their next "flagship killer."
