A Japanese magazine provided more details on the new theme songs of “Boruto: Next Generations,” the new spin-off anime which would premiere on April 5. The spin-off would replace the decade-long “Naruto Shippuden” which would air its finale on March 23. There would be two theme songs for the new anime, an opening theme, and an ending theme.
Anime Theme Veterans. Comicbook reports that the opening theme for “Boruto: Next Generations” would be performed by the band KANA-BOON, titled “Baton Road.” It is the same band that sang the theme song for “Naruto Shippuden” and the opening track of “Boruto: Naruto The Movie.” The band has also performed “Mobile Gundam Wing: Iron-Blooded Orphans” and “The Perfect Insider” which are music for other anime titles.
The Peggies sings “Dreamy Johnny” which is the ending theme song, Crunchy Roll reports. The two songs were revealed by the magazine “Weekly Shonen Jump” on its 15th issue. The “Boruto: Next Generations” ending theme song is the anime debut of The Peggies which recently released a single in October. The band is made up of three female rockers that debuted in 2011. Their latest single, “Sputnik/LOVE TRIP” shipped on Oct. 19, according to Anime News Network.
Anime Synopsis. According to the synopsis of “Boruto: Next Generations,” the anime revolves around the village of Konoha which changed and modernized after a period of peace. The village has high-rise buildings, new-generation TVs, and streets linked to electric cars which was different from the ninja era before. Boruto, son of Naruto Uzumaki, a seventh generation Hokage, leads the village but must enroll in a ninja academy to become a ninja, although the villagers are prejudiced against him.
“Boruto: Next Generations” would premiere on TV Tokyo, featuring cast from “Naruto Shippuden” and “Boruto” Naruto The Movie.” Noriyuki Abe, the episode director would serve as chief director, Hiroyuki Yamashita would direct at Studio Pierrot and “Boruto” manga author Ukyo Kodachi would supervise the story.
