MacBook Pro 2017 Update: Design, Specs & Release Date Specualtions; Shows Minimal Improvement From the MacBook Pro 2016

Apple MackBook Pro created a huge buzz last year after they unveiled the new touch-bar feature. The company is going to launch a new MacBook edition this year and rumors are surfacing the internet about its specs, designs, and features.

Currently, there is still no confirmed information about the 2017 MacBook Pro since Apple is still silent about it. So what are the rumors about this device?

Design

It is always noticeable to Apple products that it will receive a new design treatment since the company embodies innovation as a strategy. However, Shubham Sharma of MobiPicker said a design change for the new MacBook Pro is a "rare miss".

The publication also said that Apple would prefer the new MacBook Pro with the Apple's other products like iPhone and iPad. With this, people would likely to see the slim and extremely light metal laptop in Jet Black or Matte Black color.

It is also rumored that the new MacBook Pro will use the Kaby Lake, the seventh gen core from intel. The Kaby Lake is not just going to offer a major performance to the notebook but it would also include support for Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 1.2, and USB 3.1.

But in a report by Mark Gurman and Ian King for Bloomberg, Apple is said to be working on a chip called T310. The chip is said that it could handle the Power Nap functionality and it would improve the battery life of MacBook Pro.

RAM

The MacBook that is still on the shelves is equipped with 8GB of non-upgradable RAM. Users said that it helps the laptop to have a seamless performance.

Marie Brewis of PC Advisor reported that speculation for the new MacBook is that it will have a 16GB of RAM option. There are also rumors that Apple will equip the two current models to 16GB while the 8GB option will be equipped with the lower-priced model

Battery Life

Previous reports have suggested that the Apple is prioritizing MacBook Pro's battery quality. The device is more likely to deliver on the battery quality they promised to users since its rumored to be equipped with the power-efficient Kaby Lake processor.

With the Kaby Lake processor and special power management chips, the MacBook Pro could survive for 10 hours. If they could deliver this promise, it could be seen as an improvement from the 2016 MacBook Pro since it is criticized with its poor battery life.

Release Date

If Apple will follow the yearly upgrade cycle, MacBook Pro is expected to be released in early 2017, between March and May. So far, there are no release dates confirmed.
