Alexa Voice Assistant of Amazon Most Likely to Have a Face in Video Upgrade This 2017

The secretly hit-selling Alexa audio gadget of Amazon might most likely integrate all features of its later releases and end up with a video feature this year. Amazon though is still mum about what is the final Alexa upgrade to launch before the end of 2017 following news about a new Alexa release.

Analysts, however, have no other hunch to make after all the sales-making finesse of Alexa Echo and Echo Dot showed favorable to Amazon. Both performed well after Alexa was introduced as Amazon's voice assistant technology in late 2014.

The intelligent personal assistant Alexa came built-in of the smart speaker Echo of Amazon. The product is sort of modern intercom connected to the Internet that as long as users have Alexa they could page and communicate in audio seamlessly. Or by just speaking to "Alexa", users can communicate to any Internet-connected devices and services, like say a user want to hear a music, call an uber, set alarm, order pizza, and the like, then Alexa responds, follows and gives feedback and any real-time information to the user in command.

Echo having Alexa was priced about $179 when it was introduced and it was a hit in the market especially to older people, the retirees who do not like being hooked with modern technology trappings.  They are convenient in just talking with the "Alexa" in Echo.

In March 2016, the Amazon's Echo Dot version still having Alexa came out. It can already be connected to Bluetooth speaker, a jump from the first release of being limited only to the smart speaker. With the version, Alexa can already be available in fire tablets and Fire TV streaming devices, and Alexa can be directed to play a song on Spotify, iHeartRadio, Pandora, TuneIn, and others.

Echo Dot having Alexa can be paired with the phone, wireless speakers and everything connectable by Bluetooth. It works well in IOS and Android devices. The gadget becomes the tool for total home automation, for having connected home.

In the last holiday Echo Dot having Alexa was said to have amassed sales nine times from its 2015 record. One estimate said that Echo alone had at least 5 million pieces sold out, and with the enhanced functionality of Echo Dot, the x9 sales is not improbable.

Alexa got popular because whether in Echo or in Echo Dot release the assistant can listen to just saying "Alexa", its wake call.  It remembers the user's words of requests or any noises in the home from far distance and sends these sounds to its cloud for it act upon to serve its master, the user.

When Echo Dot interfaces with the mobile phones, Alexa, the voice, is most likely coming up to have face with these possible features: hands-free video call or video intercoms as some analysts preempt the still mum Amazon.
