It has been a long wait for Huawei P9 users but its finally here. The highly-anticipated Android Nougat update is finally coming to their phones before the end of March.
John Callaham of Android Authority has reported that the Android Nougat update for Huawei P9 users is not something new to hear for users. Last July 2016, rumors spread that a Nougat update will be released to P9 users.
Since then, the Android Nougat update was officially given out to the smartphone in December 2016. The thing is, it is not given to Huawei P9 users but only in people based in China.
The official Huawei India Twitter page has confirmed that Android Nougat will be coming to Huawei P9 users by the end of the first quarter. It is said in the tweet that users should "get ready to twiddle thumbs."
Phone Arena has reported that the Android Nougat update will also come with the Huawei P9's EMUI 5.0. It is already announced that EMUI 5.1, the company's next version, will also be ready for P10 and P10 Plus smartphones later this March.
Besides the Android Nougat update, there is something else that users are expecting with Huawei P9. Since the phone already has the EMUI 5.0, users are not expecting the phone to include the latest security patch launched by Google.
When it comes to popular smartphones produced by Huawei, the P9 and P9 plus are considered as the highly popular products and receiving an Android Nougat update is considered a positive and strategic move to sell more. Last December, the company already shipped a global total of over 10 million units.
The 10-million-unit shipment of Huawei P9 and P9 plus is a new record for the company. Could they break this record now that their phones would be equipped by Android Nougat?
