The slick design, 18:9 Full Vision screen, and 79 percent screen-to-body ratio were the reasons why the LG G6 was one of the outstanding smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. It is considered an excellent smartphone even if its chipset is not the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC but the Snapdragon 821.
Price In Other Currencies
At the MWC, there was no price tag for the LG G6, but GSM Arena reports that an online retailer in Romania listed the flagship smartphone of the South Korean tech giant at RON3,200. Converted into the European currency, its equivalent is €700 or $750 in American money. Cho Juno head of the LG Mobile Division confirmed the South Korea price of the phone at 899,800 won, BGR reports.
It is a 32GB model with 4GB RAM, 5.7-inch screen, and 3,300mAh non-removable battery. By March 10, the LG G6 would also be sold in South Korea. But there is a 64 GB option, although both options run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. After its roll out in South Korea, the LG smartphone flagship would be available in other countries.
Goodbye, Modular Design
Mirror notes that for LG G6, the South Korean company veered away from the modular design of the LG V20, the previous flagship smartphone in favor of a “back-to-basics approach to premium smartphones.” Besides its display that offers a cinematic viewing experience, the phone has a glass and aluminum body. This design provided the smartphone a perfectly flat back with no camera bump, while the metal frame around the gadget’s perimeter provides a soft matte finish.
The LG G6 features very narrow bezels, with the upper bezel minimized by the rearrangement of the sensor, speaker, and camera in one row at the front upper side of the smartphone. At the back of the device – which comes in black, white, and platinum colors – is the fingerprint sensor.
