Mar 03, 2017 04:07 AM EST

On Friday, March 3, the day that Nintendo released “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” game as a launch title of the Nintendo Switch, the game developer also released a DLC. But only those who bought the game’s season pass could receive the DLC. It includes three new treasure chests that have “useful items” and “exclusive in-game clothing.”

Season Pass

GameSpot reports that the season pass for “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” is both for the Switch and Wii U versions of the game, including two full expansions. The first expansion would launch in Summer 2017 and the second in Holiday 2017. There would be difficult settings, new challenges, dungeons, and more, but add-ons cannot be purchased individually.

Express reports that the DLC seems to add a new menu option to “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” Nintendo likely released the update to avoid the leak of information about some of the contents in the season pass of the much-anticipated and critically acclaimed action-adventure video game. After the game launch, players could buy the Expansion Pass for £17.99 or $22 which would grant players access to two new sets of DLC when it becomes available in the later part of 2017.

3 Treasure Chests

The three new treasure chests that “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” players would receive would appear in the Great Plateau area. It has one shirt with the logo of the Nintendo Switch and other useful items. The DLC includes a Cave of Trials challenge which is a new feature for the in-game map and a new hard mode.

WCCFTech adds that the DLC for “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” was posted on Twitter and seen by “Smellycat,” a NEOGAF user who captured the downloading of the patch and posted it online. Elji Aonuma, the developer at Nintendo, says the game developer created “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” because the world of Hyrule is so vibrant and big that they wanted to offer more for gamers to experience within with the new Expansion Pass.
