Asus may not have been that successful as they though with their ZenFone 3 series in the United States because of its late arrival, the Deluxe model of the phone seems to have been getting sales. With this, the Taiwanese company decided to give its user an Android update.
Tech Times has previously reported that the Android 7.0 update would not take place, disappointing a lot of Asus users. It is faulted to a bug that needs to be fixed, according to the company. But the time has come for them.
That's right, Asus users. Android Police has reported that if you are a user of the expensive smartphone from Taiwan, you will be getting an Android 7.0 Nougat update. This would be given to users of phones with model number ZS550KL, which is available in the United States.
Asus users would get the usual Android 7.0 Nougat updates and new features like enhanced version of Doze Mode and split-screen app feature. Besides that, Asus made their own tweaks with the update.
The update will remove the Share Link app and ShakeShake from ZenMotion. Not only that, a couple of live wallpapers that are not compatible with Android Nougat like Holo Spiral, Bubbles, Black Hole, and Phase would be removed from the Asus phone after the update.
Other Asus apps like Auto Wizard, Splendid, System update, and Flashlight would be removed from the apps menu after the update since it is deemed as redundant. If a user already upgraded their Asus Flashlight from Google Play before updating to Android Nougat 7.0, the user would still be able to launch the app from the app menu.
Asus has said that the rollout of the update would take about one week. But if after a week there is still no update, Phone Arena suggested that the user could force push it by heading to Settings, then About, then System update.
