Mar 01, 2017 10:09 AM EST

Gamers who plan to purchase a Nintendo Switch should be prepared to spend beyond the $299.99 tag price on the console. Experts recommend that for the console to survive daily use, players must be willing to spend more. Some recommend a long list of up to 12 useful accessories for the switch, while others believe five would be enough.

12 From Blunty.TV

Blunty.tv recommends 12 useful accessories for the Nintendo Switch in a seven-minute, 42-second video clip on YouTube. Among the 12 items on its list are a skin kit such as the Zelda collector’s kit. It recommends skins from dbrand.com which allow custom order combination of colors as well as materials. Second is a switch bag, with the HORI Tough Pouch, Traveler Deluxe Travel Case, and the Hyperkin EVA Hard Shell Carrying Case as among the recommended brands.

Huffington’s 5

The carrying case is also one of the five items on Huffington Post’s list. In recommending a case, the website notes that while the Nintendo Switch are sturdy, it is not sturdy enough to survive being thrown inside the bag daily. The case from Game.co.uk that it recommends costs £16.99. Still on providing protection, another must is a screen protector which is also available at Game.co.uk or Amazon for £14.99.

A third useful accessory is a microSD card since the Nintendo Switch comes with a 32GB onboard storage which would likely not be sufficient. It is only enough to save game files. Gamers who want to actually download their games digitally from Nintendo’s eShop should buy one. The switch has a microSD card slot which supports cards up to 2TB. A 128GB card usually costs £40, but at Amazon, there is a wider range of prices from £20 to £100.

Two other accessories recommended are the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller which costs £64.99 from Game.co.uk and Amazon and the Joy-Con Charging Grip for £27.99. In dollar terms, the Pro Controller is priced $69.99 and the Charging Grip costs $29.99 at www.nintendo.com.
