The exclusive and very impressive OnePlus brand is gearing up for what it has to offer its fans next. Rumor has it that the OnePlus 5 will boast top-of-the-line workmanship and specs that will make it worthy to be pitted against flagships of tech giants. What is interesting about this brand is that it typically releases just one or two models a year.

Gadgets NDTV reports that the company will be skipping the number four and will be going ahead in naming its next handset OnePlus 5. This is because branding an item with the number four has been considered unlucky in Chinese culture. While its previous models have already proven to be impressive compared to what were considered the best phones of those years, reports say that OnePlus will be taking the competition to another plane. One of the most interesting features to be expected is a dual-edge curved display, same with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

The rumored specs of the OnePlus 5 itself are equally impressive. This smartphone is said to sport a 16-megapixel selfie camera and a 23-megapixel rear camera. The device will be powered by either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and the storage could be bumped up to a whopping 256 GB.

Uber Gizmo reports that the OnePlus 5's genius engineering prowess will be easily seen on its ceramic body, which is much like that of the Xiaomi Mi Mix. It is also very possible that it will be powered by top performer Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The battery has been rumored to have been bumped up to 4,000mAh and this device now sports a USB Type-C port.

While those monster specs of the OnePlus 5 might already have its fans reach deep inside their pockets, all these should be taken with a grain of salt. Nothing has been revealed yet and the most that fans can rely on now is that the brand had never disappointed before. The phone is expected to be released in the third quarter of this year so that leaves a reasonable amount of time for anticipation.
