Xiaomi has released its game changer in February with the Redmi 4x smartphone. This new model from the Chinese tech firm comes with a 5-inch touch display and a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The device is also powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor and 2GB of RAM.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4x packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded to up to 128GB via a memory card. The cameras are also impressive with a 13-megapixel main shooter and a 5-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. While its basic specs seem quite ordinary, there is a lot that this phone can boast.
Gadgets NDTV writes that the Xiaomi Redmi 4x can run longer than most smartphones. It is packed with 4100mAh of power in its non-removable battery. It is fairly sleek at 139.24x69.96x8.65 and weighs just around 150 grams. This new device was seen as the possible successor to the Redmi 3s and 3s Prime phones, both of which were released in 2016.
GSM Arena notes that the Xiaomi Redmi 4x is an upgraded version of the Redmi 4, with its main difference being the Snapdragon 435 chipset and faster LTE speeds. The current generation Xiaomi smartphone puts the spotlight on its first in-house chipset, the Surge S1 and the Mi 5c. The company introduced the Redmi 4x to the Chinese market through its Weibo account.
At a glance, the Xiaomi Redmi 4x looks almost identical to its predecessor. However, upon close comparison of their specs, it can be seen that the Redmi 4x is more powerful with its Snapdragon 435 chipset. They have the same octa-core 1.4GHz A53 processor, but the later model supports faster LTE speeds at 300mbps for downloads and 100mbps for uploads.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4x will come in Champagne Gold, Cherry Pink, and Matte Black colorways. It will first be released in China with a price of $100 for the 16GB model and $130 for the 32GB version. As of this writing, there still is no news if this new model will be released outside of China.
