'Pokemon GO' Update: Niantic CEO Announces Three Big Updates; PvP Battle Expected

The update that fans of "Pokemon GO" could finally come to fruition this 2017 as Niantic CEO John Hanke confirmed that the game will have three major updates. One of them is the much-awaited player vs. player battle.

In a report by Jacob Siegal of BGR, Hanke has confirmed in an interview with Waypoint that the player vs player battle system would finally come to "Pokemon GO" at one point. But speaking last Tuesday at the Mobile World Congress as the keynote speaker, he said that three major new updates would take place this 2017.

It is assumed that these updates would be added to the Generation 2 update of "Pokemon GO". Unfortunately, fans of the app have still some questions left about the announcement.

Hanke did not say concrete details on the planned updates of "Pokemon GO". It is assumed that he is talking about the fans' want of Pokemon trading, player vs. player battle and a revamped gym system.

Jo-Anne Rowney of Mirror has reported that the trading of "Pokemon GO"could have taken a back seat on the update. The Silph Road also reported that it's either the player vs player battle or the new gym system would likely be the first of the three big updates announced.

With the timing, it is theorized that Niantic will push out the updates when they are ready. If "Pokemon GO" Generation 2 is one of the four updates in 2017 and would be pushed first, BGR said that it would make sense since there are three months a piece needed as space.

If Niantic would push through with that, fans and players could expect the next update at some point in May. They have yet to share more information about these three major new releases. With this, they are expecting that the hype of "Pokemon GO" would come back.
