There is a limited number of Nintendo Switch that GameStop, Best Buy, and Target are offering to consumers who failed to pre-order the Switch. The much-anticipated Switch would launch on Friday, March 3. However, some players had second thoughts about buying it on a pre-order basis, but they still have an opportunity to buy one on the day the Switch rolls out.
First-Come, First Serve
BGR reports that GameStop would make the limited supply it has of Nintendo Switch consoles to walk-in customers at the store’s midnight launch event. Best Buy would offer the excess of Switch it has that were not pre-ordered to customers on a first-come, first serve basis. Best Buy would implement a ticketing system for clients who would queue. But it would only give away the number of tickets equivalent to the number of consoles available.
To have higher chances of getting a ticket at Best Buy, customers are advised to be there by the stroke of midnight at 600 Best Buy stores. However, if the Best Buy stores nearest your place is not joining the Nintendo Switch launch, the console would be available for sale at all Best Buy stores at regular stores hours on Friday. Also on Friday, Target would offer a limited number of Nintendo Switch when its store open at 8 a.m.
Stock Replenishment
Nintendo assures customers it would replenish stocks in stores frequently in the coming weeks and months. The price is $299.99. According to Polygon, GameStop would also sell two Nintendo Switch bundles on its website on March 2, Thursday.
There are reports that some gamers had second thoughts about buying a Nintendo Switch amid reports of weak batteries. However, VentureBeat points out that other game consoles almost have similar battery life between two and six hours depending on the settings and the game played. Forbes reports that some people are asking if it would be worth purchasing the Switch at launch or until a new console with more content and time to address potential bugs have been hammered out.
