Flexibility and add-ons are two important things for consumer electronics users and Motorola is aiming to please. The company did show off some of their mods alongside the Moto Z series smartphones but it seems more are expected for 2017.
Motorola Moto Mods may not ring a bell to most. But once you get a closer look, they are optional add-ons to Motorola devices that make a lot of sense. Rather than getting both interesting and not features, Moto Mods allow users to pick only the ones they want. There were only about three that came out but thanks to a competition held by the company, at least 12 are promised to be out soon, Phone Arena reported.
Motorola has held off on Motorola Moto Mod details but it seems that most of the new ideas may have stemmed from the IndieGoGo contest winners. Curiously, LG also tried to do that before but eventually abandoned it. Now, Motorola tries to bank in on the opportunity which most hope would be special mods offering functionalities that users can actually find handy, Phandroid reported.
As mentioned earlier, there were three Motorola Moto Mods that broke the ice. That included a projector and a camera, both of which can only be used one at a time, the Tribune reported. The Motorola Moto Mods are connected with the aid of magnets, a simple attach-and-go philosophy that LG also introduced.
The possibilities are of course endless on what other Motorola Moto Mods could be available. Modern smartphones have offered multiple functionalities as of late though not all are really useful. A lot depends on the end-user, something that could hint at more economical buying once Motorola rolls them out. There is no actual date on when some of the mods will come out. But the whole concept does sound interesting and hopefully cost-friendly to the people who are after key features to use.
