Two of the most hotly-anticipated smartphones this year are Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. These iterations' official launching have been the talk for months now as each serves a purpose that will either revitalize the company or further its already beleaguered situation. Their respective fate will now be revealed in months from now as their official release dates are announced.

Release dates revealed

Forbes reports that Samsung Electronics is scheduled to launch its next flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus on April 21 globally. GSMArena has added that the forthcoming devices will be unveiled in New York at an exclusive Samsung event. It added that the South Korean company has initially scheduled the launching in its homeland a week earlier than the worldwide release. Speculations mounted that this decision was made after the company is trying to ensure that there will be enough supplies to provide for the masses at the time of their release.

The same publication has also outed that Samsung Galaxy S8's fiercest rival LG G6 is also slated to be released on March 10. This is speculated after the South Korean firm is scheduled to introduce its flagship smartphone this Sunday, Feb. 26 at the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Meanwhile, the pre-orders for LG G6 is tipped to start on March 2. As per Samsung's pre-order dates for its two flagship devices, the company hasn't confirmed the information yet albeit it is rumored that it may commence on April 13.

Highly-anticipated smartphones

The upcoming releases of Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus and LG G6 are most anticipated for understandable reasons. As per Samsung, its next flagship devices would be one of its significant responses now after the infamous debacle of its problematic Samsung Galaxy Note 7. This is its chance to prove once again why its company has been heralding the smartphone brands for years now.

On the other hand, LG's LG G6 is getting its own sound bite as the smartphone is the firm's another chance to highlight its flagship device. This comes after the lukewarm reception of LG G5 that was initially thought to sell well at the time of its release.
