So far, there is still no official word from Microsoft about the existence of the Surface Pro 5 hybrid. But with proofs popping around the internet, it could actually exist.
In a post published by TheWinCentral blog, the Redmond-based technology giant may have accidentally revealed that the 2-in-1 tablet is currently in the process of being done.
If one goes to the Microsoft's own website, there is an image of the Surface. But in the French press hub of the website, the photo is labeled as "win10-feature-surface-pro-5-z."
It may not really be convincing as it could just be a typo in the process of naming the file. Therefore, this proof could not really prove the existence of Surface Pro 5.
But another leak is more substantial and interesting than the first proof. If one checks the LinkedIn profile of Toby Fitch, he might have accidentally revealed the project of Microsoft.
Fitch, a contracted product designer who has been working with Microsoft since June of last year, mentions that he and his team is currently focused on R&D and creating new speech models.
These models are equipped with multidisciplinary design approach for devices of the future. Furthermore, he listed that they are working on projects like HoloLens, Xbox, and alas, Surface Pro 5, The Win Central reported.
Right now, Fitch's LinkedIn profile has already erased the part where he said that he is working for a Microsoft project. It only indicates now that he is just a part of the analog design team from July 2016 to present.
With these proofs, when can the public see the new tablet hit the shelves? Microsoft has launched the Surface Pro products in May, June, September and October, so there is no clear pattern on their release dates.
Since there is still no official word from Microsoft, these proofs should still be treated with caution or maybe these leaks are right. Stay tuned to DroidReport for your daily dose of tech news!
