Samsung has been working on a new Gear Virtual Reality headset along with a dedicated headset. The device was predicted to arrive next month; recently it was revealed that the new Gear VR is made with a single-hand controller.
Samsung's new VR headset will carry the code number SM-R324 with a different front cover to suits with the new Samsung Galax S8; along with a single-hand controller. The design of the device will be identical to the present Gear VR, the SM-R323 for the Samsung Galaxy S7.
The new SM-R324 Gear VR was made for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, it is expected to have a similar controller to Google's Daydream View VR headset. This controller will be helpful for multimedia playback, gaming, and other Virtual Reality app uses.
As for the current Gear VR SM-R323, Geeky-Gadgets reported that it is compatible with the Gear 360, Samsung Note 5, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Gear VR SM-R323 features a touchpad for home, back and volume keys where it automatically connects through users' phone using microUSB port where users also need to separate Bluetooth controller intended for more functionality with the touchpad.
Meanwhile, the upcoming Samsung Gear VR SM-R324 has a 101-degree depth of field which weighs at 345 grams along with its accelerator, proximity sensors, and a pyrometer for allowing consumers to experience 360-degree of virtual reality style, according to Softpedia News. The device was predicted to carry a valuable price of $99.99; similar to the current Gear VR SM-R323. This new headset would be wide enough to suits with the 6.2-inch Samsung Galaxy S8+ which also offers a USB Type-C port and a microUSB port.
Samsung Gear VR SM-R324 is coming - same as SM-R323 for S7, but gets different front cover to hold Galaxy S8 - and a single hand controller.
