The newly-released Surface Pro 4 by Microsoft has been getting rave reviews from tech experts. Most experts claim that Surface Pro 4 is a perfect combination of laptop and tablet capabilities.
Matt Smith of Digital Trends gave the Surface Pro 4 a near perfect review, saying that it has set the trend now. He added that Microsoft now is the "leader" of the field because it had few years to work out the kinds.
Smith lauded Surface Pro 4's improved performance from Pro 3 since it has a better Type cover, pen and screen. Overall, it has strong performances in all areas, he said.
If compared to a regular tablet, Smith said that Surface Pro 4 is too large and heavy. He also added that the battery life is not really optimal.
Sam Rutherford of Laptop Mag gave the device three and a half stars for its beautiful screen, impressive audio performance, and performance boost. Just like Digital Trends, Rutherford also pointed out its battery life.
Devindra Hardware of Engadget gave the device a positive review for its convenience to a user. He praised it for being a practical and ideal hybrid tablet that could be as light as a tablet but as productive as a laptop. Just like the two previous critics, the battery life is what Surface Pro must seek to improve.
Recently, there haven't been many competing devices in the field. Dell recently released the XPS 12 2-in-1, which could fold into a table and allows pen input with an optional digital stylus.
There is also another competitor, the HP Spectre x360, which was declared as one of the most acclaimed laptop hybrids. It costs $1,599 and it is equipped with many high-end features like 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD for more internal storage.
Lenovo Yoga 910 could also be a huge competitor against Surface Pro 4, with some even thinking that it is a great alternative to the device. It has a 12-inch screen, a Kaby Lake Intel Core i7 process, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB hard drive.
