Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge Update: Android 7.0 Nougat Manual Published! Expected To Give Longer Battery Life

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users can now imagine the upgrades they are about to get via the Android 7.0 Nougat after the manual was published online. The update previously known as Android N will have new features that could satisfy its users like basic split screen, longer battery life, and more.

Samsung confirmed that the two Samsung Galaxy smartphones are included in the list of smartphones that would get an Android 7.0 Nougat update. Some of the phones included in the list are Google's Pixel and Nexus devices, according to a report published by Gotta Be Mobile.

Reports also said that Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are expected to get few upgrades and new features like new home screen and settings menu, transparent app folders, and new calendar interface.

With Android 7.0 Nougat, Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge would also be more efficient with its battery life. The update also enabled the user to sleep applications in order to save battery life. It has improved the battery usage meter

All of these new features are based on the manual published online. It could be seen that Samsung Galaxy S6 has the same features with Samsung S7.

However, there are some features that would only be exclusive to Galaxy S7. For example, the new camera features like the wide selfie mode and video enhancers for the quality of audio and video would only be exclusive to Galaxy S7.

Phone Arena published that the wide selfie with motion feature restricted only to S7 and S7 Edge with the Nougat update would feature motion panorama. The update also features creating GIFs with the camera phone.

Currently, there is no specific date on the Android 7.0 Nougat to every Android phone release but various reports say that it would be some time this February. Samsung Turkey's Tansu Yegen revealed that Samsung S6, S6 Edge, and Galaxy Note 5 would be ready for the update at the third week of February.
