How To Hook Your Android To Your LED TV Using Miracast Technology

Jan 14, 2016 05:38 PM EST

Everything on the planet is getting “smarter,” and how. Back in the day, it was already a big deal for people to own LED TV’s. Nowadays, even that just isn’t enough anymore. Smart LED TV’s are the rage, and with Miracast technology, you can now project your Android’s screen onto your TV.

While a Chromecast or Apple TV lets you amp up the use of your TV and turn it into a PC, practically, investing in an Apple TV might be a stretch for most. A more affordable option is to find a good whitebox LED SmartTV on eBay or Amazon, and then using your Android to power it.

Yes, you will finally be able to watch Netflix on your TV thanks to Miracast technology. And using it is fairly simple, too.

Here are the steps to syncing your Android to your TV:

-Figure out if your phone has “WiFi Direct,” “Media Output,” or “Cast Screen” function.

-Find out what app your TV uses to connect with your device. On some TV’s, it could be labeled as “(TV Brand)share,” or functions that read “WiFi Connect” or “Share” or similar language.

-Turn on both functions for both devices.

-The devices will then try to find each other. If your TV is a whitebox device, sometimes, it may show up as “REALTEK” or the brand of its WiFi card. If in doubt, turn off other WiFi-capable and Bluetooth devices that you may have. Select the TV on your Android, and connection may start loading.

-When your Android’s screen gets projected onto your TV, success! You’ve connected your Android to your TV!
