More Phablets, Bigger Tablets for Samsung

More Phablets, Bigger Tablets are in store for Samsung this year. Samsung is aiming to release tablet devices which are even more larger than before. The company announced it will launch additional tablet devices which will have larger displays and release more phablets in 2014.

According to BGR, Samsung’s executive director Hyunjoon Kim said the company has created a new tablet category with high-resolution big-screen devices for business including the Galaxy NotePro 12.2 and the Galaxy TabPro 12.2 that were unveiled at CES 2014, hinting that more models may be coming down the road. Furthermore, the exec said the company will create various tablet models around the Galaxy Tab family, modifying them for various needs.

Samsung expects to increase shipments of new high-end smartphone panels; to expand mid-end line ups; to increase applications to wearable devices (smart watch), etc.

Shipments increased for first quarter with the company integrating enhanced high-end line-ups with S5 launch in addition to existing S4. The company’s mid to low-end shipments increased Cup demand in Latin America. Samsung : Earnings were down QoQ due to weak market demand despite outperforming market growth.
