Spotify Issues Android Users A Warning After Its Recent Data Breach. According to Oskar Stal, Spotify's chief technology officer, “Passwords and financial information were not stolen.” The company is planning to add 130 technology and engineering jobs in New York. More than 40 million users use the popular music service. Only Android users were required for the upgrade.
The company set a requirement for music service users on Android mobile devices for its data breach security concerns. The mandate will be to install new software which will safeguard against security breaches. Spotify was a victim of the data breach where unauthorized access to one user's account had occurred.

Access to the cloud and the content stored or shared from the cloud will be managed and secured, rather than solely focusing on the device itself.
