Ivy Ross Named Head of Google Glass

Ivy Ross is Named Head of Google Glass. The company last Thursday announced that Ivy Ross, who has experience at Coach, Disney, Mattel, Calvin Klein and more to lead the wearable-computer unit. She previously had a design role at Bausch & Lomb. According to WSJ, Ross’s appointment was previously reported on TechCrunch, which was also reporting that Glass engineer Adrian Wong was leaving to join Oculus VR. Ross introduced herself to the Glass early adopters in a message on the company’s social network.

According to eMarketer, “ Google gains 33% of revenue in the worldwide advertising market this year, up from 31% last year. Share of worldwide mobile web ad revenue will reach nearly 53.2% this year, up from about 52.4% this year. “ Communication for Android wearable technologies is an important element to further innovations. With Android users able to access more data faster, the user experience will improve as a result. Google’s  Bluetooth MAP support allows app communication to third party devices.

Luxottica recently partnered with Google Glass and added two major proprietary brands of the Group, Ray-Ban and Oakley who has a 10-year heritage in wearable technology that has evolved from MP3 to HUD devices, will be a part of the collaboration with Glass; however details about these new products will be disclosed at a later stage.
