Six New Features Have Been Added for Google Maps Android Apps and iOS. For Android users on the go, Google Maps for mobile is the perfect travel companion for a daily commute, weekend errands, and vacations. Google recently added the new features such as lane guidance to the Google Maps app. The app now shows which lane to stay in or move to so users never find themselves driving for miles down the wrong road. Users will also have easy access to alternate routes while they are navigating, so users can choose the best drive.

Vacation features have also been updated. Users can select “Save map to use offline,” and give their map a custom name, like “Toronto Vacation” before they set off to travel. To find offline maps, sign-in, tap the profile icon next to the search box in the top right corner, and scroll to see “Toronto Vacation” and other saved maps.

The last call feature offers the user new filters, they can browse through restaurants, bars and hotels by opening hours, rating, price, and more where available. For the Frequent Uber rider, users with the Uber app installed, can now compare rides with transit and walking directions right from Google Maps in some cities. Selecting the Uber option, takes the user directly to the Uber app with just one click.

Google’s team also posted adding a new feature to access train information. With more than a million public transit stops on Google Maps, users get reliable information to help them get to where they are going. Users can also see places they have saved on Google Maps across all devices when signed in. Android users can also find searching for the ideal destination through Street View where available. There is also option get a peek inside some hotels, restaurants, and more. Google is aiming to make navigation easier with this feature.
