Adobe Air For Android available at Google Play offers users an application which enables a user’s favorite games and web apps that they can access all the time. AIR Runtime technology powers some of the best-selling and award-winning mobile apps and games on Google Play store. The Adobe® AIR® runtime enables developers to package the same code into native apps for Windows and Mac OS desktops as well as iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, Nook Tablet, and other Android™ devices, reaching the mobile app stores for over 500 million devices.
The Android Licensing native extension provides AIR application developers access to the Android Market Licensing service. This service helps the user enforce licensing policies for paid applications that users publish through Android Market. When using this service, Adobe explains how this application can query Android Market at runtime to obtain the licensing status for the current user and then permit or prohibit further use.
Game developers have the ability to call into their native, platform-specific code using AIR native extensions. Free sets of native libraries are available through the Adobe Game Developer Tools to further empower developers. While several game reviews and ratings are readily available, a preview offers users the advantage of making a choice based on their personal preferences. Game previews only work on devices that have AIR installed on them.
Adobe AIR’s new Game Preview feature (for Android platform only) lets users try your game and experience it first hand, thereby making their purchasing decision much easier. Adobe provides the JavaScript files needed to detect whether AIR is installed on a device. If AIR is installed, the game preview is launched else the user is prompted to install AIR from the Google Play Store.
