Google Licensed Room 77 Last Month To Push Mobile Travel-Booking. The latest Room 77 deal is to benefit Google’s hotel-search results as part of its advertising business. The recent efforts were in place to encourage its users to reserve hotel room stays via their smartphone device. Room 77 technology is a a startup by Expedia Inc. According to a letter sent to Room 77 shareholders that was obtained by Bloomberg News. Room 77 co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Calvin Yang and many of its engineers are joining Google, the letter said.

TravelSmith Outfitters, an outfitting resource for savvy travelers, used the expertise of Mercent to implement PLAs. Since then, product sales originating from PLAs and Google Shopping have increased by 200 percent. They have also increased consumer traffic by approximately 10 percent and have seen orders go up by 35 percent, with more than a 26 percent increase in sales conversions.
Google’s commerce areas has had rapid adoption of Google Shopping in the retail community; tens of thousands of merchants, including many marketplaces, have come on board and are participating via the latest model, based on Product Listing Ads (PLAs). The company represents inventory from over one hundred thousand sellers.
