Speciality Android applications can help the disabled leverage technology according to their handicap. There are a number of Android mobile applications available for the disabled today. Applications for the visually impaired offer a personalized keyboard or touchscreen device for the user. There are also built-in features which are designed for the handicap.

Mobile Accessible for Android is available at Google Play. The app features are designed for the blind and visually impaired. Mobile Accessibility is an application that enables blind and visually impaired, to be able to use an Android phone in an intuitive and easy way. MA is two products in one: A suite of 10 accessible applications (Phone, Contacts, SMS, Alarm, Calendar, Email, Internet, Where am I, Apps and Settings) which have been specially developed. All applications have a simplified interface whose textual information is spoken using Nuance Vocalizer ® voice synthesis or it can be a Braille display any information which can be connected to output in Braille.
Visual Impaired Buddy
The Visual Impaired Buddy App Assistant to the Visually Impaired and their Carers v2 is an app designed to assist the visually impaired as well as their carers in terms of providing time and location information to its visually disabled user. The project also keeps the users' carer updated with the mobile user's location information via a web application, which can be access through: https://vib.net46.net This application is completely free to use. This mobile Application is designed to cater for those who have visual impairment to assist them in their daily routine. The disabled will be able to perform various functions using voice commands. Vista Center’s App for Android lets users quickly and easily find videos from the Vista Center. These are instructional videos that help blind and visually impaired users with everyday tasks such as using an automated ticketing machine, identifying money, etc. There are also informational videos that teach users about various technologies, including accessible Android applications. Vista Center's Mission: "to empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired to embrace life to the fullest by serving individuals of all ages, living in San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties, who are threatened by loss of independence due to moderate or severe vision impairment."
