To the dismay of countless fans, gaming sensation Flappy Bird was deleted from both iOS and Google Play app stores this weekend. Creator Dong Nguyen was apparently fed up with the attention from the massively successful game and sent out several cryptic tweets expressing his discontent.
“I can call ‘Flappy Bird’ is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it,” the creator tweeted, later adding. “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore.
Users who already have the game installed can continue playing so long as they don’t delete the app, but for those who missed their chance to download Flappy Bird, there are still a few ways to get it on your device that don’t require shelling out tens of thousands of dollars for an iPhone with Flappy Bird preinstalled.
The easiest way to play Flappy Bird right now that doesn’t require any hacks or cheats is by playing it in a web browser. Created by software developer Ural Özden, the browser version of Flappy Bird runs on HTML5, so you’ll be able to play it on most smartphones and tablets.
