The Samsung Galaxy S5 release date has been confirmed for before the end of April 2014. Some had believed that that the next-gen flagship would appear during the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. The Mobile World Congress is a major consumer tech event between February 24 and February 27 and is expected to see other flagships like the HTC One+ and potentially the LG G3. The expected specs of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is currently an Exynos octa-core processor, a QHD 2K display, 64-bit capabilities, 16-megapixel ISOCELL camera and potentially a curved flexible display and a metal body variant.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 release date was confirmed by the Samsung executive vice president of marketing, Lee Yooung Hee, who was attending CES 2014 in Las Vegas when he was interviewed by Bloomberg News. Lee told Bloomberg that the Samsung Galaxy S5 would have a significantly different design than the Samsung Galaxy S4. Perhaps indicating that the rumors of an all-metal body for the Samsung Galaxy S5 are true. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is also expected to have an iris scanner, this is a clear response to devices like the iPhone 5s and HTC One Max which boast a fingerprint scanner.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is expected before the end of April, perhaps as early in March. The next-gen flagship will also likely be launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2. The Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 will be an improvement on the current smartwatch. The improvements for the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 will focus on making the device smaller, more powerful and improving the quality of the screen. Overall if the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date ends up being before the end of April that will have been a full year since the Samsung Galaxy S4 came out.
