The Top Five Most Anticipated Mobile Android Products At CES 2014

This year at CES looks like it may be the most exciting one yet! There are plenty of new devices and tech being showcased, and I’m extremely excited to see what HTC, LG, Samsung, and other companies have in store for us this year. However, since this is a top-five list, I’ll narrow it down to five new Android devices I’m looking forward to hearing more about.

1.       Galaxy Tab Pro/Note Pro: Samsung has hinted at releasing two giant 12.2” tablets this week, and it didn’t let us down! If anything, Samsung has exceeded expectations and created four new tablets: The Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2”, GTP 10.1, GTP 8.4”, and Galaxy Note Pro 12.2”. All of these tablets deserve their “Pro” moniker. With all WQXGA LCD screens, Snapdragon 800 Processors, and batteries supplying copious amounts of energy, all four of these tablets would be great buys. The larger two have 32 or 64 GB storage and 3 GB RAM, while the smaller two have a 16/32 GB option with 2 GB of RAM. All four feature 8 MP rear cameras and 2 MP front and have LTE options. However, the fancy new hardware isn’t what most people are fussing about. The real news is the new Magazine UX and Kitkat combo. A new look and a clever upgrade to Touchwiz and my favorite OS yet? Count me in!

2.       Sony Xperia Z1S: Most people have heard all about the Sony Xperia Z1. 20 MP camera, Snapdragon 800 processor, beautiful, waterproof design, and so on. Unfortunately, despite T-Mobile receiving the Z1’s older brother, the Z, no US carrier had the device. Until now. The Sony Xperia Z1S is for T-Mobile and brings all of the beauty and brawn of the Z1 right to your homeland! (With double the storage.) Also, a Z1 compact was released for global markets.

3.       Lenovo Vibe Z: Although Lenovo has been in the smartphone game for a while, the Chinese tech company had yet to produce a device with 4G LTE capabilities. It is fixing this with the Lonovo Vibe Z. With a 5.5” 1080p screen, 2 GB of RAM, and a roaring Snapdragon 800 Processor, you’d expect this mobile monster to be quite the large piece of machinery. However, you’d be wrong. At just .31” and 5.12 oz., the Vibe Z is a slim piece of work. One of its best features is the sharp, dual LED flash 13 MP rear camera for crisp shots in the light and dark, and the front 5 MP camera for taking the ultimate selfie. Unfortunately, the Lenovo Vibe Z will not be available in the US, if ever. Also, Lenovo is releasing an AIO desktop running Android called the Lenovo N308.

4.       Asus Transformer Book Duet: The first tablet to actually be released running both Windows and Android separate from each other is here, and it seems to be here to stay, provided that consumers actually want it (and Microsoft or Google don’t kill it). Read more here.

5.       The Toshiba Chromebook: The first 13.3” Chromebook with an HD display. Haswell Celeron processor, 2 GB of RAM, and the standard 100 GB of Google Drive storage are included to make this 3.3 lb., .8” thick computer a buy that’s hard to resist at $280.
