CES 2014 is well underway in Las Vegas and on Wednesday, Hisense unveiled two ultra-high definition Android smart TVs in addition to the ones already announced as part of the VIDAA line. The Hisense H9 3D series will come in 85-inch and 75-inch varieties, while the H8c will be offered in 65-inch, 55-inch and 50-inch sizes. The company also announced the H8s TV, which boasts 65-inch curved display.
All of the Hisense TVs announced at CES will ship running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and come preloaded with apps including Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Pandora and YouTube. Additionally, the TVs will have full access to Google Play, so you’ll pretty much be able to install any other app you might want.
“Our message at CES is UHD For All!” said Jonathan Frank, vice president of marketing, Hisense USA in a press statement. “These two additions to our line deliver stunning performance, elegant design and category leadership when it comes to coupling advanced features and innovative UI.”
No pricing has been announced yet, but Hisense has indicated that consumers can expect to see the new Android smart TVs rolling out to retailers sometime in the third quarter of 2014. Given that Hisense isn’t especially well known stateside, it will need to offer some fairly competitive pricing if it hopes to gain any market share against bigger firms like Sony and LG.
“As evidenced by the array of compelling televisions we’re debuting here at CES 2014, Hisense is determined to provide retail partners and customers in North America with the highest levels of innovation, performance and choice,” Frank said. “We’re committed to retaining that winning approach going forward and I’m confident that we’ll achieve our dual goal of establishing a satisfied, loyal customer base and becoming a global brand known for quality, performance and innovation.”
In case you were wondering, the Hisense H9 will require Bluetooth 3D glasses, which come included with the television.
