Cover App Moves Into Beta And Opens To Public With ‘Smart’ Lockscreen [REPORT]

Dec 13, 2013 04:55 PM EST

The “Cover” app is now in official beta on the Google Play Store making it open to the public. The cover app is a “contextual” “smart” lockscreen which allows you to get the apps you want customized on the lockscreen. Basically you have a list of apps on the left of your smartphone and you can scroll up or down to get to different apps and launch them right from the lockscreen. You can also open some apps by swiping to the left to get a peek at them.

In addition to that the “Cover” lockscreen learns your habits and what apps you use and when, it can modify itself to your tastes according to the time of the day, if you are at work or home or in the car. According to to Tech Crunch which interviewed the founder of Cover, Todd Jackson, “The big question I had personally was whether users would understand the concept of the lockscreen. Turns out they do. We were specifically focused on building a lockscreen rather than a launcher. They like the flexibility of being able to use Cover with other launchers.” Basically think of it as Dashclock on steroids.

Cover is the fastest way to get to the right apps at the right time. It's a smart lockscreen that replaces the standard lockscreen of your Android phone. It's compatible with almost all launchers. Cover has four main features:

1) The right apps at the right time 2) Peek: quickly see what's new and launch apps with a swipe 3) Jump directly between apps 4) Smart settings

Thanks for trying Cover! We'd love to hear what you think: feedback@coverscreen.com
