Applications
The Google Play Store for Android has much more choices for applications. The App Store and Android qualities are both unique to each store. Google Play offers a plethora of applications with some of the most well known companies. The apps can be purchased and downloaded instantly without syncing.
Security and Application Install
In order to install applications that are not available on the Apple App Store, a user must run an exploit against a vulnerability in the software. While not the safest approach from a security standpoint, this is the only way to install applications that are not available through the Apple App Store. In contrast, the Android platform provides the option to install apps from unofficial markets by simply changing settings in the operating system. Since no exploit is needed, the same incentives aren’t present as there are on iOS. Android users are vulnerable to a whole host of threats; however, very few have utilized vulnerabilities to spread threats.
Better Sharing Options
Sharing through Android offers many different options. With iOS 7, only a few alternatives are available. Android offers touch to share and better application sharing. Android Beam features NFC technology by simply tapping to share. The Android Notes app has more than 20+ sharing options depending on which apps are installed.
Customization is a key benefit to Android. Users can find that many different features are available. Android notifications still outperform compared to iOS 7 revamped notification center. The notification drawer for Android allows users to respond to any application without opening the app first.
There are even many more options why Android is ahead of iOS 7. Security is an importance for any user today. Android is also a more secure operating system. According to a recent Symantec Report, The vast majority of vulnerabilities on mobile systems were on the iOS platform. However, the higher number of vulnerabilities is not indicative of a higher level of threat, because most mobile threats have not used software vulnerabilities. Over 387 vulnerabilities were documented for iOS 7 vs. only 13 for Android.
