Evernote recently announced a new Android Update earlier this month. The update features a Customizable Homescreen, PDF Annotation and more. The Evernote team wrote on their blog about the update which should make Android better by its improvement of Evernote’s notebook selection. There will also be a new Premium feature, markup summaries for PDFs and enhanced Page Camera performance.

Users who have Evernote for Android can experience the Better Notebook Picker. Notebooks.  For many users, Notebook connects to Evernote at its core. The update makes for switching between frequently-used notebooks easier by placing the most recent notebooks at the top of the list. Android users can also toggle between showing and hiding Business notebooks. The updated app also was designed to be more stable and responsive for users.

The update also includes PDF Annotation with Markup Summary. Several annotation features from Skitch app were integrated into Evernote. Android Premium users can add shapes and text to PDFs attached to notes. Evernote also integrates with a PDF Summary. The summary is added to the front of the users PDF which shows a visual summary.

Page Camera Improvements by Evernote also features a digitize a physical page by snapping a photo. The app will then clean up the photo, improve contrast and make the text searchable. The Evernote Notebook by Moleskine is compatible and other written words on any other type of notebook also works. The improvements were made to benefit Android users by delivering faster additions and accuracy. A Premium Feature allows users the ability to Customize their Homescreen. Premium users can also choose to hide some of the lower items on the homescreen.

The demand for Android applications is significant. Economic conditions and during times of constrained budgets pressured organizations to invest in applications, drive demand in SaaS, IaaS, Cloud. 2013 looks quite optimistic for enterprises. SaaS is ideal to ease the integration in a cloud process, analytics and cloud capabilities. Especially with organizations in cloud today, the demand for supply chain improvement through leveraging SaaS, analytics will help to filter big data and improve user experience.
