The Galaxy 11 (Part 2)

Nov 22, 2013 04:30 PM EST

As you may know, Samsung’s latest marketing plot involves an alien invasion, and elite team of athletes, and football. Samsung has been releasing news updates about the coming match, and has also been announcing players for the team. So far, there have been three players announced:

Leo Messi:

Messi was announced as the captain of the team soon after the formation of the Galaxy 11. His announcement came with an exciting video involving an incredible car chase while dribbling a football. For those of you who don’t follow football, Messi plays for Barcelona and is one of the most talented forwards in the world. If anyone deserves to be the captain of the Galaxy 11, It’s Leo Messi.

Mario Götze:

Götze was announced earlier this week as the second member of the team. He plays for Bayern Munich as attacking midfielder, and while young, he is still a very talented footballer. Unfortunately, it seems the captivating videos announcing new players were reserved for captains only, because the announcement for Götze involved him looking at the clouds.

Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Junior:

Oscar was announced yesterday as the third member of the Galaxy 11. He plays winger for Chelsea, and is also a younger player. His announcement video looked much like the previous one, but in a different location.

So far, it looks like the earth has a great offense, but we need some defense! There will be more information pouring in from Samsung, but for now, keep checking back here to find out who the next player will be.

Mystery still surrounds the Galaxy 11, but here is what we do know:

Apparently, the football matches will be played in many different galactic locations, since the website lists each players’ weight on Earth, Mars, and Sirius B.

Every player gets standard-issue Galaxy tech, including a Custom Galactic Battle Suit, and an XT2 Gravitational Variance ball.

The aliens keep showing up, and seem to show no signs of slowing down with their creepy silent PR.

Samsung is currently looking for player number four.
