Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Makes Gaming Easier

NVIDIA Shield supports thousands of users now with its 4.3 Jelly Bean OS for Android update. The shield update was enforced for Android gaming entertainment console support. NVIDIA Shield previously operated on Android 4.2.1. New features include Gamepad Mapper software, operating system improvements, optimized Wi-Fi and streaming support for gaming. The over-the-air software update changes were effective immediately.

For Android users, the update is automatic at 427.3 MB in size. NVIDIA stated in their blog, “There’s no way to match the visceral thrill of taking command of a game with a console-quality controller. That’s why we’ve unleashed a massive update to our SHIELD gaming portable that allows gamers to use SHIELD to take control of thousands more Android games originally designed for touch screens. And that’s just one of the big new features crammed into our latest software update, available now.”

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to Shield is updated. Android users will have access to greater performance improvements, expandable notifications and restricted profiles features. Support for SD cards has also been improved. Its OBB and .APK files are also in place to external flash cards. Open GL ES 3.0 is significant for Android gamers.The new version displays better graphics for games and apps. NVIDIA will benefit from more speed with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Users will be able to see more details with reflections, textures and lens flare. The graphic ability and speed will make for much better gaming experiences.

Console Mode

NVIDIA Shield had introduced Console Mode as well. Console mode went live yesterday and PC streaming on Shield is no longer in beta. With Console Mode SHIELD integrates into the users HDTV through a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable. Android gamers can now enjoy a full 1080p resolution. Console mode is enabled to conserve power. As a standalone console, NVIDIA Shield can be accessed through Google Play, PC and HDTV.

NVIDIA GameStream Improves Streaming

NVIDIA GameStream PC streaming supports over 50 of its best PC games such as “Batman: Arkham Origins,” which are included in its 2013 holiday release. Gamepad Mapper software now allows users to play touch games with hundreds of Android games. GameStream was also announced yesterday. GameStream media streaming technology is a combination of advanced Wi-Fi and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX graphics cards.The optimized Wi-Fi for gaming includes ultra-low latency with up to 60 frames per second.
