AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition Available For Preorder At $1799, Gaming RX Vega Release Date Confirmed

AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card is now up for pre-order. There will be two SKUs of the graphics card, one liquid cooled that costs 1799 USD and then the air-cooled version at $1199 USD. The board power is also listed in the preorder, 300 and 375 Watts.

In the UK the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition cards are listed by Scan UK and Sabre PC: the air-cooled version and liquid version of Vega Frontier. Both cards have exact same specs at 13.1 TFLOPs FP32 compute performance.

AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition card has a GPU clock of 1600 MHz. Both cards get 16GB HBM2 memory. The Vega 10 GPU offers 4096 Stream Processors. AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition has four display outputs: 3x DisplayPort and HDMI. 

The air-cooled AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition costs $1,200 and the liquid-cooled Vega goes for a cool $1,800 at SabrePC. The Vega Frontier Edition's specs include stream processors at 4,096, 64 compute units, pixel fill rate at 90 gigapixels per second and memory at 16GB HBM2 in two stacks with 483GBps bandwidth, as noted by PC World.

The final core clock speed for the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition wasn't announced in the listing. However, knowing about the Frontier Edition's teraflops performance and hardware details, it will likely peak around 1,600MHz.

However this card is not for the gamers, the card for gamers which is AMD Radeon RX Vega will be released in the late 2017 or in 2018. The Radeon RX Vega will be even faster than the Frontier Edition and will be more competitively priced with NVIDIA's current Pascal-based GeForce GTX 10-Series cards.

As reported earlier, the AMD Radeon Technologies Group's chief architect Raja Koduri revealed that the gaming Radeon RX Vega GPUs will be much earlier and cheaper compared to the Vega Frontier Edition. This also is to target towards pro content developers.
