Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and Tab S2 8.0 Gets Price Cuts By Ajay Kadkol | Jun 07, 2017 12:01 PM EDT Samsung customers in the United States can now enjoy a discount of $100 on the company's two tablet products. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and Tab S2.0 has received price cutdowns. For a long time now, the tablet industry for the Android ecosystem hasn't fared well due to competition from Apple with their iPads. Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S3, their most recent product in the market that the company believes to be a direct competitor to the iPads from Apple. The 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2 is being sold at $400 now. According to GSMArena, Samsung has set up no-interest six-month payment plans for $66.66 and $58.33. Open box units of the same product are available at a much cheaper price by around $50 and $70 for the two variants respectively. While the Galaxy Tab S2 was released in 2015, it even got an Android Nougat Update in April this year. However, those with the new updates were only the Wi-Fi models and not all variants such as those with cellular connectivity. Android Authority reports that Samsung is currently offering their two tablets only for a limited time and will expire on June 17. Both Samsung and other retailers like BestBuy are offering free shipping for the two Tab S2 models. Hardware specifications for the Galaxy Tab S2 include a 9.-7inch Super AMOLED display with the same resolution of 2084x1536 pixels that currently exists on the previous generation iPad Pro variants. The display size for the Tab S2 8.0 varies only on the screen size that's 8 inches. A Snapdragon 652 processor from Qualcomm combined with 3GB of RAM onboard takes care of all tasks on the tablet. The Galaxy Tab S2 also comes with 32GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded up to a capacity of 128GB with the help of a microSD card. The cameras include a front-facing 2.1MP sensor alongside a rear-mounted 8MP camera on the back.
