OnePlus 3 and 3T Receives The New Oxygen OS Beta Update Featuring Brand New Features; Ambient Display 2.0 By Ralphy Bonn Sim | Jun 02, 2017 01:03 PM EDT OnePlus recently released a new beta version of Oxygen OS line up for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. This new build is known as OxygenOS Open Beta 17/8, which brings some cool new features such as UI tweaks for certain apps as well as performance improvements. According to GSM Arena, the most prominent features will include a brand new Ambient Display 2.0, an improved version which was OnePlus 3T has. The lift-to-wake feature has also been added which is a pretty useful feature, along with a quick sharing for camera-captured photos and some new fonts for English, Chinese, and Japanese languages. OnePlus has started this build from scratch a few months ago to give OnePlus users much more needed features in better functionality. The UI tweaks are also present for the Gallery, File Manager apps, Recorder Weather. Users can install the update to say anything further for OnePlus' newest OxygenOS Open Beta 17/8. As noted by XDA Developers, other system level enhancements will now make the OnePlus 3T zippier. Users might notice an improvement in app launch times for third party apps along with background process management has been improved that will give better stand-by times. Meanwhile, other miscellaneous improvements will see the setup wizard follow the material design of Android 7.0. The newest OxygenOS Open Beta update also packs an easy contacts import, which is now available for the dual number and an e-mail address as well. The person who dials in a call can now automatically add country codes to every user's numbers when doing roaming calls. In the end is the May 2017 security patch included with this beta build. OnePlus specifies that if users have flashed a beta build before then they will receive this new update as OTA. Otherwise, OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3T will have to head over to the OnePlus forum and follow the steps to migrate to Beta.
