Huawei’s Honor 8 Receive Its Security Patches For Bug Fixes: Specifically Its Microphone Issues And Much More

Huawei's Honor 8 will be receiving its massive 815MB update. The smartphone has been updated to the April 2017 security patch which includes several bug fixes for the microphone that has been a problem for many Honor 8 users.

Huawei's Honor 8 microphone issue which was being referred to be the Microphone is Already in Use message that users were getting when using Camera Voice Recorder and Google Assistant. This is due to the OK Google detection using the microphone all the time, where users had to resort to turning off this permission for Goggle. This issue doesn't just occur in Honor 8, but also with the other Huawei's smartphone lineup as well, as noted by Android Soul.

According to Gizbot, Huawei hasn't yet released full details for this update, where it's hard for tech enthusiasts to speculate what's new to this patch. As mentioned above, this update is pretty large one where it may bring plenty of changes to the phones system.

Huawei's Honor 8 was speculated to bring in the April security patch though we are now in the month of June. The update does leave the Honor 8 on Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.0, so there's still no update to Android 7.1.1 just yet. Users must expect that it may happen later this year, as Honor will likely just update the device to Android O.

For those users with Honor 8 in the United States, they can head to Settings, then tap on About Phone, navigate to Check for Updates for attempting to download the update. Since the update is clearly large, users must sure that they are on Wi-Fi before attempting to download the update.

Another thig to remember, users must ensure that their device does have a fairly battery, at least 50 percent or above. With this, the phone doesn't die while the update is being applied, and possibly bricking the Honor 8 smartphone.
