Leaked Image Hints LG V30 Joins Latest Trend Of Bezel-Less Phones

A leak of the upcoming LG V30 phablet shows the device is joining the growing trend among gadget makers to go bezel-less. Besides almost no bezels, the upcoming device features a Full Vision display and a glossy, mirror finish.

But GSM Arena warns that the leaked image of the LG V30 is only a concept based on a video. Beyond how the upcoming phablet would look like, it fails to provide any new information on the LG phone. It has similarity to the LG G6 because of the dual camera and fingerprint reader on the phone’s back.

A single speaker grille, 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom of the LG V30, and USB type-C port are on the opposite side. On the top, there is a row of icons and likely a selfie shooter. For now, since the South Korean phone is not expected until fall, observers are speculating the phablet would run on a Snapdragon 835 chipset and feature 6GB RAM and dual camera of 13MP normal and 13MP wide-angle, Ausdroid reports.

The leaked image came from EVleaks, or Evan Blass., taken from LG’s Project Joan. 9To5Google notes that the LG V30 appears to be a mashup among the LG G6, Samsung Galaxy S8, and BlackBerry Priv. The sleek curved front and back edges, and the square camera hole on the center were taken from the Galaxy line, while the aluminum band around the edges were from the LG G6.

The LG V30 also apparently borrows designs from previous slider phones. However, instead of having a hardware keyboard, it uses the space for a second display which is a characteristic of the LG V series that usually launch in fall. In contrast, the G series roll out in spring with mainstream flagship devices. The second screen constantly displays at the bottom even if the phone is not slid up. Among its potential uses are a place for software keyboard or provide a quick access to other apps.
