The company has unveiled a new ZenBook Pro UX550 laptop at the company's press event at Computex in Taipei on Monday with incredible specifications and features. The laptop has a price tag of $1,299. The real competitor for this laptop is the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch. Hence, the newly launched laptop from Asus takes head-to-head with 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro. Display and Body: According to Asus Press Room, the ZenBook Pro UX550 sports a 15.6-inch 4K UHD NanoEdge touchscreen display. It has a high screen-to-body ratio and is 18.9 mm thick. It weighs around 1.8 kilograms and sports Asus' signature ultrabook design. On the other hand, the Apple MacBook Pro sports a 15-inch LED-backlit display with IPS technology. It measures to 349.3 x 240.7 x 15.5mm and weighs 1.83 kilograms. The device has a touch bar for wide applications. Hardware: The Asus ZenBook Pro UX550 is powered by an Intel's seventh-generation Core i7-7700HQ processor paired with fast 16GB DDR4 RAM and discrete graphics in the form of Nvidia's GTX 1050 Ti. The laptop holds up to 1TB SSD and packs a generous 73 Whr battery, which is claimed to have a battery life up to 14 hours. It is also reported that the laptop can charge to 60 percent capacity in just 49 minutes. According to Apple, the MacBook Pro is powered by quad-core 2.6-3.5GHz Intel Core i7 processor that is upgradeable to 2.9-3.8GHz. The processor is coupled with 16GB of LPDDR3 onboard RAM and Intel HD Graphics 530. It also holds 256GB/512GB onboard SSD that can be configurable to 1TB or 2TB SSD. It features a built-in 76.0-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery with a battery life up to 10 hours for the wireless web use. Other features: The Asus ZenBook Pro UX550 runs on Windows 10 and features various connectivity options such as the two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 3, two USB Type-A 3.1 ports, a full-sized HDMI 1.4, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It also sports Harman Kardon speakers, which are claimed to be 2.5 times louder than competing notebooks. It also equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure one-touch login with Windows Hello. The Apple MacBook Pro runs on MacOS Sierra operating system.
